Alister Mead

Auckland-based Alistair Mead started as a scientific glassblower in 1975. With a career spanning over 40 years creating complex glass instruments for scientific use, Alistair has perfected his precision and technique in manipulating glass. He is a member of the American, the Australian, and the New Zealand Scientific Glassblower Societies. Beyond the scientific community, Alistair is more commonly known for his figurative sculptures. His artistic work is influenced by his interests in conservation and the natural world.
