Kristin McFarlane

Since becoming a glass artist, Kristin McFarlane has focused on transferring design elements into glass. This interest stems from her background as a graphic designer working in the music and advertising industries. After several years in design, Kristin returned to Monash University to complete a Graduate Diploma and Masters of Fine Arts in Glass. An interest in photography and experimentation with a variety of printing methods, especially screen-printing, has enabled Kristin to start working more artistically through the medium of kiln-formed glass. Kristin’s work incorporates botanical specimens and encaustic painting. She enjoys using delicate materials to create multi-layered works with complex interiors that explore memory, fragility and strength.
