Peter Rix

Peter Rix has a detailed history of working with hot glass, having completed a 4 year apprenticeship in scientific glass blowing in the UK before moving to Australia and becoming involved in numerous glass workshops and studios.

 

After travelling across the country, Peter settled down in Tasmania to collaborate and share a Salamanca Market stall with fellow artist Richard Clements. He established his own Hot Glass Shop in Salamanca Place in 1980 and became an Artist in Residence at Aspect Design, where he continued to work for 18 years until 2019.
