Silvana Ferrario

Perth-based Silvana Ferrario is an award-winning glass artist and has exhibited her works in art shows across Australia. Drawing from her experiences, memories, and surroundings, Silvana began working in fused glass in 2009. This varies from the ocean-inspired pieces reflecting Silvana’s experiences as a subsea engineer and scuba diver, to pieces inspired by her rural setting in the hills, and work reflecting memories of when she was young. Silvana employs a range of self-developed techniques, often making use of the movement arising from the fluidity of the glass when it is hot. With Silvana’s scientific background, she also likes to investigate the geometry present in both man-made and naturally occurring structures, as well as the opposition to the fluidity of the natural elements.
